Sudoku Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms form an agreement between you and the developer of Sudoku (“we”, “us”, or “the developer”). By installing or using Sudoku, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The service

Sudoku provides classic number-placement puzzles, local progress saving, candidate notes, hints, completion history, statistics, themes, reminders, and related settings. Built-in puzzles allow basic play without a network connection. Network availability may be needed to obtain additional puzzle content, open legal documents, or use future optional services.

The current app does not provide a Sudoku account, login, social network, public ranking, competition, or cloud synchronization. Local progress belongs to the app installation and may be lost if storage is cleared, the app is deleted, the device is reset, or data cannot be migrated.

3. Limited license

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Sudoku for lawful, non-commercial use on devices you control. The app, brand, illustrations, interface, puzzle presentation, and other materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the app unlawfully or to violate another person’s rights;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, bypass, or gain unauthorized access to app services or infrastructure;
• distribute malware or manipulate requests in a way that harms the app, other users, or providers;
• remove legal, copyright, trademark, or attribution notices; or
• copy, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Nothing in these Terms restricts rights granted by mandatory law or by a separately identified open-source license for a third-party component.

5. Privacy choices

On first installation, Sudoku asks whether you agree to the consented non-essential services described in the Privacy Policy. Choosing Agree and continue stores that decision and opens the game. Choosing Disagree leaves those services disabled and closes the app without starting Sudoku play.

6. Availability and changes

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of Sudoku to address security, compatibility, legal, operational, or product needs. We do not promise that every online feature, puzzle download, external link, or device-specific capability will always be available. We will not intentionally make your existing local puzzle data public.

7. App updates

Updates may be required for compatibility, security, or continued access to online components. Updates are distributed through the applicable app store and are subject to that store’s terms. Do not install modified packages from an untrusted source.

8. Charges and connectivity

The current classic app does not require a paid Sudoku account or subscription. Your mobile carrier or internet provider may charge for network use. If a future release offers a purchase, subscription, or advertising-supported benefit, its price and material conditions will be shown before you choose it and these Terms will be updated where necessary.

9. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sudoku is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent availability of online content, or preservation of local data in every device, migration, backup, or operating-system scenario. Sudoku is for entertainment and mental exercise and is not medical, educational, or professional advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or inability to use Sudoku. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

11. Ending use

You may stop using Sudoku at any time and remove local data as described on the Data Deletion page. We may restrict access to online components when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, abuse, security risks, or legal requirements. Because the current app has no user account, there is no server-side Sudoku account to terminate.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will show a revised effective date. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate in-app or service notice where required.

13. Applicable law

These Terms are governed by applicable law without reducing any mandatory protections available to you in your place of residence. Disputes should first be raised through the contact below so the parties can attempt a practical resolution.
